One of my patients had been admitted following an overdose, then while I was giving out medications she dissapeared. I alerted security but ended up going to look for her myself. I found her asleep on the bus stop bench drunk! While we were on the way back to the ward she said she had taken more pills and how long will it be before she died? I got her to bed and asked the doctor to come and take bloods as i thought she had took another overdose. When he arrived he was explaining why he was taking the blood and said "I am just going to clean your arm with this alcohol.." and before he could finishe she said " can I have whats left" lol. Like most of the patients we get she will probably try drinking the alcohol hand gel or asking for the cough syrup when she realises there is a chance of a drink! lol

Mediblogopathy - A Nurse Blog

Mediblogopathy - A Nurse Blog: ""
